Technical Director Chris Byrd at Ernst and Young Entrepreneurs' Forum Dinner

Many of the best of the North West region’s business brains attended the Ernst and Young Entrepreneurs' Forum Dinner on 24th January.

Promoted as one of a series of regional networking events the dinner took place at the Great John Street Hotel in Manchester with the aim of encouraging greater contact amongst the entrepreneurial community.

Chris comments “ I’ve always been impressed by how Ernst and Young value the contributions entrepreneurs make to our society and with so many keen business leaders sitting down to enjoy the evening, the event was bound to be a success. I certainly valued the opportunity to listen to David Suddens who won the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Award in 2011 in the Retail & Wholesale category. David is Chief Executive Officer of R Griggs Group Ltd - designers, manufacturers and marketers of the well-known Dr Marten brand of footwear. His story of how he turned the business around from the point of insolvency to creating around £300,000,000 for shareholders was simply inspirational. Many of the business people I spoke with agreed that there should be more of these sort of opportunities and I came away determined to maintain contact with them”.

We have been planning our own technology focussed round table discussions and forums and this dinner has fired Chris with enthusiasm to make them happen soon.
