The founding directors of M247, Technical Director Chris Byrd and father and son team David Buckle, who is Managing Director and Jonathan Buckle, who is Operations Director, have collectively reached the level of Finalist as judged by the panel of the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards 2012.
The awards aim to recognise people who build and lead successful, growing businesses and previous winners include business ‘superstars’ who have met the entry criteria based on innovation, strategy, financial performance and social responsibility. The winner will be judged by the Ernst and Young panel to have demonstrated success and commitment in all of these characteristics and to have applied them in an outstanding entrepreneurial fashion.
M247 Managing Director David Buckle said “Our marketing activities over the past twelve months or so, and most notably the PR coverage we gained in Insider Magazine, appears to have brought us into the beam of the Ernst and Young radar. We were very surprised that they were interested in us at all but after early discussions we began to realise that we had quite an unusual entrepreneurial tale to tell, one that perhaps exemplifies triumph over adversity. I insisted that each of the three founding board members were taken into consideration collectively. We were a close knit team in starting the company, we perform as a close knit team on a daily basis and we share any accolades as a close knit team”.
The Northern Regional Award Ceremony will be staged on June 26.
Elaine O’Donnell, north west entrepreneur of the year leader at Ernst & Young, commented recently to the Manchester Evening News: “The finalists represent the current crop of business superstars who, despite a challenging economic environment, are propelling growth and innovation. “With total determination, self-belief and commitment to succeed, the entrepreneurs have managed to spot opportunities which are helping to transform companies, entire sectors, and quite often society as a whole.”
“If we are fortunate enough to get through to the next stage in the awards it would be a feather in everyone’s cap here at M247” says David.
