Paul Woodland, Liquidsix Hosting

Paul was an early customer of Open Hosting at our Manchester datacentre and recalls the luxury of having plenty of space on our data floor.

Paul, who is a colocation customer, has witnessed plenty of growth since the doors were opened in Manchester and although he lives on the South Coast of the UK and therefore much closer to London than to Manchester, Paul still prefers to use our services than sign up with one of our London competitors, but why?

“It’s to do with personal contacts and service” says Paul, “ I got to know Jonathan Buckle, M247’s Operations Director, and found him knowledgeable and easy to get along with. When he told me M247 was about to open its first datacentre a few years back, it just seemed an obvious choice to come here. I’ve never looked back since that point and although the distance between us might have proved a problem, in reality, their ‘remote hands’ technical support has always been impressive. If I need a hard drive swapping in the middle of the night, it gets done quickly and without fuss. My own customers don’t experience any downtime. Sometimes being outside the capital has many advantages, not least of which is cost. I’ve found M247 to be very competitive, there’s also lots of secure and free parking space and they’re right next door to the motorway system but even so, when I do visit, I still find it cost effective and convenient just to head up there on a fast train service.”

Like many in our industry, Paul is enjoying significant business growth so perhaps he might also be an early customer in our brand new datacentre opening very soon.
